Construction industry significant decline in 2000

The Taiwan construction index dropped 53% in 2000, 9% more than the TAIEX. Thirteen companies fell below their PAR values, while sector wide 30% of companies revised 2000 earnings expectations downward. Additionally, 21 companies bought back their own shares as prices plunged, yet the buy-backs did little to stop the falls.
