2000 global semiconductor ranking by revenue

Dataquest (US) survey results show the global semi-con market at US$222.1b in 2000, a 31% YoY gain. Intel (US) topped with 13.4% share and 11% YoY semi-con. rev. growth; Toshiba (JP) replaced NEC at no. two with 5% share and YoY growth of 47.2%. Players outside the top-10 hold 51% share with 34% YoY growth. Winbond (2344 ‘Hua Bang’) will benefit from Toshiba’s growth, with 2002 outsourcing to rise to 25%-from 2000’s 7%.
