NB PC Dec. revenue declines, matching expectations

First tier NB PC makers all booked Dec. MoM revenue falls. Arima (2381 ‘Hua Yu’) Dec. revenue plunged 50% MoM, with Quanta (2382 ‘Guang Da’) revenue falling 27%. Compal (2324 ‘Ren Bao’) and Inventec (2356 ‘Ying Ye Da’) recorded 19% and 7% MoM drops, respectively. Compal achieved 99.8% of yearly revenue forecast and enjoyed 59% revenue growth YoY, reaching NT$ 74.8b. These strong returns ranked the company first in the sector in terms of completion of whole year revenue target and growth. Quanta, the largest Taiwan NB PC maker, posted a small 9.9% YoY sales growth and fell 15% short of target for the year.
