Nan Ya Tech. to ink deal in a flash

Nan Ya Technologies (2408 ‘Nan Ya Ke Ji’) is to ink an alliance agreement with an undisclosed MNC. The two parties will collaborate in data flash memory production, with signing scheduled for immediately after Chinese New Year. The company, in a Dec 2000 meeting, stated its plan to ramp up flash production to 10k pcs (20% of total capacity) in 4Q01. Meanwhile, Winbond (2344 ‘Hua Bang Dian’)’s flash partner is rumored to be Silicon Valley-based NexFlash, a spin-off of US-listed ISSI’s flash memory division.
