The battle over the fourth nuclear power plant

• The Legislative Yuan yesterday rejected a Cabinet compromise proposal for the resumption of construction of the fourth nuclear plant.

• The compromise proposed to conditionally resume construction and reallocate budgeted funds, but not to allocate new funds until after the legislative yuan election in November this year.

• We believe that the Legislative Yuan will win this battle and achieve an unconditional resumption of construction.
