Taisdaq hopeful Novatek reports 2000 EPS of NT$7.18

• IC design house Novatek Microelectronics Corp., Ltd. (unlisted, 'Ling Yong') has released year 2000 financial results. Revenue reached NT$4.2b and after-tax profit NT$1.08b. The company has 150.5m outstanding shares, making for EPS of NT$7.18.

• The biggest revenue contributors are controller ICs, caller ID products and ICs for computer peripherals. We expect strong revenue growth on the new LCD driver IC product line launched last year. The company is aiming to push revenue growth to 33% in 2001, with a target of NT$5.8b.

• Novatek provisionally plans to list on the Taisdaq in April.
