February revenue nothing to write home about

• Elan Microelectronics Corp. (5433 'Yi Long Dian') expects February revenue to come in at NT$220m, a YoY and MoM increase of 10%. Sonix Technology's (5471 'Song Han') revenue was NT$65m last month, up 12% YoY and 27% MoM. Taiwan Memory Technology Inc. (5468 'Tai Jing') estimates February revenue at NT$85m, for MoM growth of 16%, but a YoY decrease of 53%. Faraday Technology (5404 'Zhi Yuan') expects revenue of NT$194m, or 20.4% YoY growth and 4% MoM decrease.

• The mediocre showing comes as no surprise. We do not expect to see IC design revenue to pick up until late 2Q01, when end-market consumption and customer confidence should make a return.
