Realtek March revenue may reach NT$500m
Early reports suggest that Realtek's (2379 'Rui Yu') revenue in March
may reach NT$500m, a 15% increase MoM.
The increase comes mainly on the back of revenue from NIC (Network
Interface Card) products. NIC customers, downstream network equipment companies, have
completed inventory correction and are signaling that more orders will be necessary to
meet market demand.
Realtek maintains a conservative forecast of 20% revenue growth in 2001,
but stresses that higher growth is possible if it can get a foothold in the emerging LOM
(LAN on Motherboard) market.
With the increasing popularity of LAN and the emergence of broadband,
market demand for networking equipment is set to increase. We remain confident on Realtek
as a leading play in communication IC design.
