Possible sequential quarterly sales increase
Development: TSMCs June revenue may see a slight up-tick to NT$9bn
from Mays NT$8.5bn, according to a local press report.
Analysis: The up-tick reflects a 5% MoM increase, and a QoQ decline of
32% for 2Q01.
Primasia View: We remain cautious on the foundry sectors 3Q01
outlook as UMC has warned of ongoing difficulty. UMC pre-announced a 35% sequential
revenue decline in 2Q01 and a likely worse 3Q01 last week.
