Intel advances Brookdale roll-out to Oct 01

• Development: According to local M/B makers, Intel has decided to advance the roll-out schedule for the Brookdale chipset supporting DDR to Oct 01 from 2002. Meanwhile, Brookdale chipset supporting SDRAM will start shipment July 01.

• Analysis: Under the new Brookdale schedule, the Pentium 4 platform is set to benefit from the two critical PC buying seasons for 2H01; back-to-school and Christmas.

• Primasia View: The local DRAM industry, which strongly endorses the DDR platform, will clearly benefit, especially Nan Ya Technology.
