Monthly NB PC shipment recovers in June

• Development: First-tier NB PC makers reported last month NB PC shipments increasing MoM.

• Analysis: Compal estimates that NB PC shipments in June were around 170k units up from 155k in May. June sales are expected to be around NT$6bn, versus NT$5bn in May. Quanta’s June shipments also increased (to 400k units) with sales totaling NT$11bn.

• Primasia View: We expect the 2H01 performance of Compal and Quanta to improve on the back of increased NB shipments due to seasonal strength and outsourcing.
