Top five Taiwan NB PC makers up market share

  • Development: Display Search reports worldwide NB PC shipment in 1H01 at 12m units and forecasts shipment in 2H01 to reach 14.8m. Full year growth is expected to be 11%YoY.

  • Analysis: Taiwan NB PC shipments are expected to stand at 6.3m units, 52.5% of total global NB PC output, slightly down from 53.2% in 2000. However, the top five Taiwan NB PC makers have expanded market share, accounting for 74.6% of total Taiwan NB PC shipment in 1H01, up from 73.8% last year.
