Compal’s June revenue beats expectation

• Development: Compal reported June revenue of NT$ 6.54bn, a 30% growth YoY. This figure beat market expectations of NT$ 6.0bn. Sales in 2Q01 were up 8% QoQ.

• Analysis: Last month’s sales growth was boosted by an increase in both NB PC shipment and monitor shipments. NB PC shipments in June were 185k units, up from 155k units in May.

• Primasia View: We believe Compal’s growth momentum will continue in 2H01on the back of Dell’s new model NB PCs and stable orders from HP and Toshiba.
