NB PC shipment expected to rise in 2H01

Development: Arima recorded June NB PC shipments of 130k, up from 110k in May. Revenue was reported around NT$3.3bn, versus NT$3.1bn in May. The firm forecasts NB PC shipments in 2H01 of 900k, beating 550k units shipped in 1H01.
Analysis: Arima’s adjusted forecast for NB PC shipments in 2001 is around 1.45m units, in line with our conservative forecasts, and lower than the firm’s initial estimation of 1.8m.
Primasia View: Current PE ratio is around 10x based on our 2001 EPS forecast. We have a positive outlook for 2H01 but remain concerned with profitability.
