Picvue monthly sales on the rise

• Development: Picvue reported July revenue of NT$273m reflecting 20% MoM growth, but a 56% plunge YoY. Sales rose 8% YoY in 7M01.

• Analysis: In line with our expectations, June sales bottomed. We expect monthly revenue for 2H01 to increase gradually and forecast 3Q01 sales to remain flat QoQ. Sales should sequentially grow by 36% in 4Q01. We expect FY01 sales to decrease 8% YoY due to a slowdown in PDA demand.

• Primasia View: We expect fierce competition in small size LCD panels upon market entry of Japanese and Korean LCD makers.
