PEDAC lifting go slow policy towards China |
|
|
Development: President Chen announced Taiwans go slow
policy towards mainland China should be replaced with active and efficient management of
economic ties to maintain islands global competitiveness.
Analysis: The Presidential Economic Development Advisory Council
proposed lifting the go slow policy and the government is likely to accept the
proposal, as President Chen had asked the Cabinet in July not to veto the advisory
panels proposals.
Primasia View: Relaxation of investment policy towards China would
contribute greatly towards lifting investment sentiment and would present a long-term
solution to structural problems that have been surfacing in the economy.
