Amtran to gain orders from Sharp

• Development: Amtran officially announced that it secured a 15-inch LCD monitor order from Sharp (Japan). Shipment will begin in early Sept.

• Analysis: Amtran will be the first Taiwan LCD maker to ship outsourcing orders to Sharp. Successful in diversifying its customer base this year, Amtran also obtained orders from Apple (US) in May. Previously, firm relied on Viewsonic (US) for material orders.

• Primasia View: We maintain our outperform rating, supported by an attractive valuation and growth outlook for 2H01.
