Ambit Japan rumors unfounded

• Development: Ambit claims their Annex A ADSL modem shipment to Yahoo (Japan) has no interference problems with existing broadband infrastructure in Japan. ST Microelectronics (chip supplier for shipment) reiterated that Annex A chip supplied to Ambit has no problems.

• Analysis: Both companies sent engineers to Japan to test the broadband infrastructure before shipment began to Yahoo. It seems that rumors about the interference problem may be incorrect. Shipment to Yahoo is expected to continue as planned (e.g. 200k units per month).

• Primasia View: We are positive on Ambit’s broadband foothold in Japan as Yahoo is the country’s leading Internet Protocol.
