D-Link nails switch order from France

• Development: D-Link’s OBM (Own Brand Manufacturing) division received its first high-end Layer 2 switch order from NAPE (French National Agency for Employment). Order includes 1.8k switches to ship between Jul. and Oct. 2001.

• Analysis: Revenue contribution on this deal will be NT$52m and we expect a 20% gross margin. The mature and powerful switches are equipped with 22 ports (10/100 BASE-TX), extendable up to 94 ports and are capable of SNMP virtual web management.

• Primasia View: We are positive on this contract as it has effectively cracked open European government agency business opportunities.
