Amtran posts outstanding net profit performance

• Amtran reported accumulated pretax profit in the first nine months to be around NT$462m (or EPS of NT$2.32), a 40% increase YoY. Result achieved 81% of our forecast. Amtran’s outstanding profitability is a benefit of a favorable product mix (75% of revenues from LCD monitors and increased production of large-size monitors with high margins). Going forward, the firm expects LCD monitor shipment in Oct. to continue its climb, reaching around 90k (a record high) thanks to a successfully diversified customer base. We maintain our rating based on the firm’s solid positioning in the monitor sector.
