Company Visit - LCD monitor shipments surge

• Amtran estimates Oct. LCD monitor shipments will hit nearly 100k units, reflecting 43% growth MoM. Revenues are expected to reach NT$1.1bn, up from NT$0.83bn in Sept. The growth surge is mainly driven by increased orders from major customers including Viewsonic, Sharp and Apple. Firm also indicated Nov. LCD monitor shipments are likely to reach between 120k-130k and Dec. shipments to drop slightly to 100k. As a result, 4Q LCD monitor sales will increase 83% QoQ, helped by the addition of Sharp (new client as of Sept.) and seasonal factors. Given Amtrans’s positive estimates, we will be revising up our own ‘01 and ‘02 EPS forecasts.
